Last week I had my 15 birthday. Honestly, I never would have imagined I would live long enough to make it to year 15. Yet, here I am. After reflecting on my life, I’ve compiled a list of 15 things I’ve learned in 15 years. Here they are.

1.  Never step in any type of liquid you see on a city street. 99.9% of the time it’s not water.

2.  Always be nice to everyone, you never know what’s going on in their lives.

3.  Being yourself is one of the hardest things you can do.

4.  You don’t have a bad day, you make one.

5.  Red heads do in fact have souls.

6.  Breakfast is important, so that your stomach doesn’t make embarrassingly loud noises in class.

7.  Things always look better in the morning, unless you’re not a morning person; then everything just seems worse.

8.  What seems like a big deal today, won’t seem as bad in thirty years.

9.  Almost every girl will say “AWE!” really loud when they see a baby animal.

10.  Waiting for your food in a restaurant when you’re really hungry is tougher than trying to win the Hunger Games.

12.  Best friends are like family.

13.  Insults cut deeper than the sharpest knives and leave permanent scars.

14.  Laughter will always be the best medicine.

15.  Always be happy and live in the moment so you can have awesome stories to tell your grand kids when you’re old.
